today and tomorrow/April 3


This one took my breath away.

Dr. James Goodrich was one of the few neurosurgeons in the world who had mastered the art of separating conjoined twins -- even untangling the brains of those joined at the head.  His mantra was "Take it easy and slowly and carefully."

His hospital was on the front lines in the Bronx.  They don't know when or how he contracted the virus but he continued working and seeing patients into March.

Exposed for who we are . . .

I cannot listen to one more person lament: "This is not who we are."  "Yes it is!"

It feels like the early days of the AIDS epidemic.  When government didn't give a damn because it was just the gays.
