today and tomorrow/April 1

From New York Review of Books
Lately, the pleasures of a daily walk—the sights, sounds, and experiences to be had outside the confines of one's home—have become more and more vital in many of our lives. Beneath My Feet, now in paperback, is a testament to the simple power of taking a stroll: It collects pieces from dozens of memorable walker-writers from the 1300s to the modern day, from country hikers to urban saunterers, from staunch rationalists to truly outlandish thinkers. All of them ponder our need to put one foot in front of the other.

Cuomo Update
Yesterday's (Tuesday) briefing discussing the New York hospital system was a master class in why we need Medicare for All, and why every developed country but ours has figured out that capitalism doesn't work for health care.  If Cuomo has found his "inner Churchill," yesterday he found his "inner Bernie."

April Fool's Day
I know, it feels like there's a colossal joke on all of us.  Laugh back today...okay?
