I Went to the Movies. . .

. . . and got shot and died.  No, I'm not part of the plot.  It isn't like "The Purple Rose of Cairo" where the point is that the audience goes up on the screen and becomes part of the movie.  No, I'm just here for the midnight show of the Batman film.  It's the summer blockbuster and I want to be at the first show.  The midnight show.  Just here to watch.  Guns?  Blowups? None of it is real.

Funny how this happened.  And now I'm dead.

  1. I'm in shock by what happened in Colorado. I read that the man responsible for the shooting was reportedly pursuing a PhD in neuroscience at CU-Denver. He supposedly enrolled in the fall of 2011, but dropped out in June.

  2. One of the readers who has been with me from the very beginning is Pam, who lives in Denver. She has written so many insightful comments to this blog over the years. I'm sure, just like the rest of us, she is at a loss for words right now.
I used to think that words, representing imagination and great ideas, would ultimately save our fate. It's a race now, isn't it?

    1. I'm fearful over who is going to win, ideas and words or crazies with guns.

Don't let that thought die Joan.
And I hope that Pam is OK.
